North Sea Transition Deal cuts emissions as clean energy transition continues
It is one year since the landmark North Sea Transition Deal was agreed between UK government and the oil and gas industry.
Progress made includes reducing production emissions by 11%, supporting the development of carbon capture, and setting out a hydrogen strategy for the UK.
The deal is a key part of the how the UK government is backing the decarbonisation of the oil and gas sector while protecting the UK’s energy security.
